Well, we made it through Thanksgiving and have just recovered this weekend. We arrived at mom and dad's on Wednesday evening. Had a wonderful day on Thursday w/wayyyy too much food but lots of time with family and friends. All the women shopped on Friday. Garrett headed back that morning for a tournament, and Lori and I headed back Saturday evening so we would have Sunday to relax. We had lots and lots of laughs and enjoyed seeing everyone so much.
The one thing I HAVE to write about was probably the highlight of the weekend. On Friday my mom, my aunt Natalie, cousins Lauren and Kayleigh, Lori and myself all headed out shopping around 10:00ish. We were not crazy enough to get trampled for all the great buys but ventured out a little later in the day. We stopped at Sam's for mom to get Nate's Christmas. We bought a few other things. We all left the store and were walking across the parking lot..all of a sudden, we hear this loud BOOM, turn around and my little short mother had rammed the shopping cart into a yellow cement post b/c she couldn't see over her purchases. People in the parking lot were stunned and all you could hear from us was the loud burst of laughter. Mom was fine, but it jarred her really good!! I'm laughing as I write about it!!
And...basketball is in full force. Garrett's team is officially 8 and 0...no losses!! So...it's been really exciting and I hope we have an undefeated season!! Go Horns!!!
We're getting geared up for a white Christmas. We actually bought snow pants today in preparation for our trip to Colorado. We just can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!
One last thing that's very exciting...we've been part of our church for about 2.5 years now. The church is actually 4 years old. We've been meeting at Mansfield High School for that amount of time and praying without ceasing that God would make a way for a church. Property in Mansfield is EXPENSIVE and we didn't know how we would ever acquire the land, much less a building. Welllll......Our pastor made the announcement this morning that we've bought a church!!!! We are so excited!!! What a great Christmas gift!! GOD WILL MAKE A WAY WHERE THERE IS NO WAY...HE IS SO GOOD!!!!
Until later...
